Armed assailants have killed a teacher and abducted at least 25 students in an attack on a female high school in the northwestern part of Nigeria, police reports indicate.
The gang of attackers breached the comprehensive secondary school for girls in the Maga locality within Kebbi State at roughly 4 in the morning local time on the beginning of the work week, authorities reported.
The armed individuals "exchanged fire with security forces on duty in a gun duel" before climbing over the boundary wall and abducting the learners from their hostel, according to a statement.
