The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been intense.
The first season presents a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
